Pianist Dao Trong Tuyen
Dr. Dao Trong Tuyen, coming from an exceptionally musical family in Hanoi, is currently one of the most prominent concert pianists in Vietnam.
Dr. Dao started learning piano in 1981, studying with many professors throughout his education: Hoang Vinh Huong, Hoang Hoa, Joel Pasquier, Professor Tran Thu Ha and world renowned pianist Dang Thai Son. In 2007, he got his Doctorate in Musical Arts from Montreal University in Canada, majoring in piano performance.
His achievements include a first prize at the Vietnam national piano competition in 1990, recording performances for the Vietnam National Television and Radio, performing concerts in Canada, France, Japan… He has also performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras in Vietnam, such as the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Hanoi Symphony Orchestra, Vietnam National Opera & Ballet Orchestra…
Dr. Dao Trong Tuyen is currently the Piano Department Chair at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. His students have won many great prizes at piano competitions, domestic and internationally.
